Thank you for your purchase. We can now begin the process of considering your resident tax affairs for the Falkland Islands.
Being a Falkland Islands Tax Resident simply means you were present in the Falkland Islands for 183 days or more in the calendar year. As a result, you are entitled to all the reliefs and allowances available, but you are also liable to pay tax here on your worldwide income.
Firstly we need some information from you. It is divided into two sections; the information we need from everyone and the information we require if it applies to you. If you are struggling to provide any of this information, please continue to read this page, where we provide explanations of what is needed in more detail.
Remember this is information as it applied in 2022 only.
Please e-mail this information to info@albatrosstax.com with your name as the subject header.
A copy of this page can be downloaded in PDF at the bottom of the page and a copy will be e-mailed to you.
Please Provide the Following Information and Documents in all circumstances:

How to Submit
As said previously please e-mail this information to info@albatrosstax.com with your name as the subject header. We can accept scans or photos of documents, as long as we can read them.
As always, if you have any queries at all, please get in touch.
What it the timeframe for submission to you?
The filing deadline for your return with the Falkland Islands Tax Office is 31 July 2023 (for 2022 returns). We require your information by 30 June 2023 to allow us time to prepare your return before the submission deadline.
Returns are processed by the tax office on a "first come, first served" basis and there are no exceptions to this rule. The earlier you can provide the information the better as we will have more time to consider it and the tax office can process it earlier (if that is what you wish).
What happens after I have submitted?
We will consider your information and decide whether submitting a tax return is to your advantage or not. In most cases a tax return will be prepared for you.
If the 2022 returns have been released and we have received all your information, we will endeavour to provide your completed return within 30 days.
We will provide further instructions with the completed return.
Further Details on Information Required
Certificate of Tax Deducted
This should have been provided by your employer at the year end or when you finished your employment. It is a legal requirement and the Falkland Islands tax office cannot provide you with a copy. If you do not have a copy to hand, your final payslip of 2022 may have the information required (total pay, tax deducted, RPC, name, ID number, etc.) so is an acceptable substitute. Providing this covers a lot of the information required for most people.
Dates of Arrival and Departure
Please be accurate with this information; it should be in your passport. We need to know the date(s) you arrived in the Falkland Islands and the date(s) you left (not when you left your home country) as residency and reliefs are calculated based upon days in the Falkland Islands.
Details of Any Benefits in Kind
This should be details of anything provided by your employer such as a cars for personal use, accommodation, loans, etc. Please note a house provided by Falkland Islands Government where rent is paid is not considered a benefit in kind.
Any Flights or Accommodation
This would be travel that is not wholly and exclusively for your employment (so not a work trip), flights to another country (as part of a contract, as in a flight home once a year) are not taxable but only to an extent. Please include details of all flights paid for by your employer.
Details of any voluntary tax payments made
On top of deductions from your wages you can make voluntary extra payments to the Tax Office. Please include details if you have made any.
